The Canadian Journal of Children’s Rights is an electronic peer reviewed international journal published annually and features interdisciplinary scholarly research relating to children’s rights in a global context. CJCR publishes theoretical, empirical and policy articles — and includes a section for youth submissions. Its aim is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and engaging in debate and dialogue regarding questions and issues pertaining to children’s rights.

The Honourable Landon Pearson and Virginia Caputo, Director of the Centre, guest edited the inaugural issue released in 2014 and dedicated to commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Canadian Journal of Children’s Rights (Revue Canadienne des Droits des Enfants) is available through the open access system at Carleton University’s MacOdrum Library.

2024 commemorative issue

The issue is dedicated to commemorating the legacy of the Hon. Landon Pearson and is guest edited and introduced by her granddaughter, Lucy Vorobej, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto. In addition, the Issue includes a section to the Shaking the Movers workshop theme, “Reconciliation and Places Where We Belong.”  Landon Pearson’s leadership in championing children’s rights over a lifetime of incredible effort and activity has left an indelible mark on those who pursue a world where the rights of all children and young people are upheld and respected. The issue contains a number of tributes.
